Welcome
to Scott Rocketry!
My
name is Lee and my son's name is Jonathan. We have created this web site to document our experiences in rocketry as well
as share what we have learned with our friends, our soon to be friends, and other rocketeers.
I do not think I can really consider myself a born again rocketeer
even though I launched Estes rockets as a teenager. Most of my spare time in Junior and Senior High School was spent building
and flying RC airplanes.
In 2005, Jonathan was completing his last year in Cub Scouts and he was looking for a
Boy Scout troop to join. A troop in the area asked Jonathan if he would like to attend its next outing, which happen
to be a rocket launch. We attended the launch and Jonathan enjoyed the Troop but he also had a great time launching the Estes
rockets. In the intervening months we stumbled upon High Power Rocketry while surfing the Web. We met Andy Worner
and attended a couple of his launches in Plaster City. Jonathan and I then built some Mid Power rockets and Andy was nice
enough to show us the ropes. After that we spent lots of time searching rocketry web sites to learn as much as we could
and building rockets in the garage.
